Over the past decade, there has been a substantial shift in attitude held toward workplace safety. Providing a safe work environment for employees is now a top priority for many organizations. The shift in importance regarding the Government Legislated Safety Legislation and their application in the Residential Construction Industry has not gone unnoticed by the Owners and Management Team here at The Great Canadian Roofing Corporation. From the very beginning, we have realized the need to create a safe work environment for our office staff, field employees, and numerous sub-trades.
GCRC has created a Risk Management & Safety Department and have hired employees specifically dedicated to our Safety Department. We are striving to meet and frequently exceed current industry standards and Occupational Health and Safety Acts & Codes.
The Great Canadian Roofing Corporation has implemented systems in relation to Reporting and Safe Field Operations. Given that safety is such a “moving target”, these systems are continuously tracked and tested in the hope of streamlining the accountability features of safe field operations. This will allow our employees to work in a productive manner and in a safe work environment.
We realize safety is of the utmost importance, so GCRC has established a special committee that rewards safe work practices. We have awarded roofing equipment, safety equipment, cash and even trips for compliance to our stringent safety regulations.
